Best Sunset Spots on the Eastern Shore of VA

The Virginia Eastern Shore is one of the few places on the East Coast that can watch a sunset over a body of water. In fact, the Eastern Shore is unique in that you can watch the sunrise over the Atlantic in the morning and then watch the sunset over the Chesapeake Bay in the evening. Cape Charles Beach

Cape Charles is located approximately 10 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. One of the top features of this historic town is the Cape Charles Town Beach, which runs along the length of Bay Avenue. The beach is free and open to the public; even parking is free! This is the perfect place to bring a beach chair to sit back with your feet in the sand and watch the sun dip below the horizon.

Kiptopeke State Park

Kiptopeke State Park is located approximately 3 miles north of the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel. With camping, walking trails, and a large fishing pier, there is a lot to do at this state park. Be sure to get there around sunset and watch the sun go down behind WWII concrete ships that were sunk as breakers!
