Boat Ramps on Virginia’s Eastern Shore
The Virginia Eastern Shore is a 70 mile peninsula with the Chesapeake Bay on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other. It’s no surprise that boating is one of the top outdoor activities in the region, whether it’s fishing, sailing, going on sunset cruises, or exploring the barrier islands. While the list below is not meant to be exhaustive, it does provide information on several boat ramps located on the seaside and bayside of the Eastern Shore. We’ve also included links to lists of boat ramps provided by Northampton County and Accomack County, the two counties that make up Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
SEASIDE (from South to North)
Virginia’s 70 miles of barrier islands, which is made up of 14 islands, are the longest chain of undeveloped barrier islands in the global temperate zone and the largest stretch of coastal wilderness left on the East Coast of the United States. Boating in this area can be challenging due to the changing waterways, which can shift with each storm.
