Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Southern Maine in the small town of Yarmouth on the coast. My parents were transplants from Newport News so I always felt a connection to Virginia and have called it “home” for the past 30 years while living in Winchester. I’m excited to make Cape Charles my new home.
In what year did you begin your career in real estate?
Selling real estate is a new career for me but I have spent over 5 years working behind the scenes staging homes for sale. Prior to entering real estate I homeschooled my four children and have been an educator for over 30 years.
What do you enjoy most about being a real estate agent?
Guiding clients through a thoughtful and strategic process is very exciting and fun. I love listening for key details and finding that perfect match. Plus, the relationship that develops from taking time to truly listen can last beyond the closing table! On the buyer side, I love understanding each client’s priorities and piecing together the right home that truly fits their lifestyle. On the seller side, I enjoy helping homeowners recognize the value of preparing their property to present at its best — not just clean, but uncluttered and neutral. While sellers naturally love how they live in their home, I help them see how small adjustments, such as minimizing personal items or bold design choices, can make it easier for buyers to envision the space as their own and ultimately lead to a stronger sale.
What is your favorite outdoor activity on the Eastern Shore?
I love walking on the beach at low tide and walking with my dogs. I also love watching the birds. From the geese and eagles to shorebirds and the passerines, the Eastern Shore is a great place for birding!
Beach or boat – if you had to pick one, which would it be?
I love both but the beach is more realistic and much easier to access.
