Concerts in the Park: The Final Weekend
The beloved Saturday night summer concert series at Cape Charles Central Park wraps up the first weekend of September with a big finish.
September 5: The English Channel (LoveFest)
The final concert of the summer series is a good one. The English Channel performs as part of LoveFest, the ’60s-themed celebration hosted alongside Citizens for Central Park. Think flower power, tie-dye, live music, and a Best ’60s Costume contest. It’s one of the more festive nights of the year in Central Park and a great send-off to summer. Free, 7–9:30pm, Cape Charles Central Park, 301 Plum Street.
If you haven’t made it to a concert in the park all summer, this is the one to catch.
Full Moon Bike Ride (September 26)
One of the more unique events on the Cape Charles calendar: the Full Moon Bike Ride takes place on the evening of September 26th, launching from the Cape Charles Beachfront at 7:30pm. Riding through the Historic District under the Harvest Moon is the kind of experience that’s hard to replicate anywhere else. This is a local favorite and a genuinely fun way to see the town at night.
Fil Rhythm Band at Sunset Beach Bar & Grille (September 26)
Live music on the 26 at Sunset Beach Bar & Grille. The Fil Rhythm Band brings a lively sound to one of Cape Charles’ waterfront bar settings — a good complement to the Full Moon Bike Ride if you’re making a full evening of it.

Here’s the honest version: September may actually be the ideal month to visit Cape Charles if you’re evaluating it as a place to buy. Prices at restaurants are easier to get into, parking is never a problem, the beach is still warm enough to enjoy, and you get a more accurate picture of what day-to-day life in town actually looks like — not just the peak-season version.
