BACKGROUND
Where did you grow up?
I grew up in Norfolk, VA but moved to the Eastern Shore in 1995 when my children were very young. I loved the idea of moving to a place where people would know me and my children by name.
Have you traveled a lot? Where are some of the places you have been?
I have traveled through Eastern Europe and the Caribbean. However, I still believe there is nowhere more beautiful that the outer beaches on the seaside of Virginia’s Eastern Shore.
REAL ESTATE
In what year did you begin your career in real estate?
I began my career in real estate in 2016.
What originally got you interested in real estate?
My mother was a real estate agent and later general manager of a family owned agency in Hampton Roads. After changing professions two years ago and getting my real estate license, joining Chesapeake Properties seemed a perfect fit.
What do you enjoy most about being a real estate agent?
I truly love living here and like nothing more than to share all of the wonderful aspects of living on the Eastern Shore of Virginia with clients!
EASTERN SHORE CONNECTION
What do you like best about living on the Eastern Shore?
Moving to the Eastern Shore was the best decision I ever made. I love walking around Cape Charles and saying hello to everyone. When I have guests in town they invariably say “you know everyone!” The community is filled with friendly, interesting people who come from all walks of life and appreciate small town values and a slower pace of life.
What is one hidden gem of the Eastern Shore that you wish more people knew about?
That’s a difficult question to answer. From the uninhabited wind swept, pristine beaches of the seaside to the manicured golf courses in Cape Charles, the Eastern Shore has an amazing lifestyle.
Do you prefer the seaside or bayside of the Eastern Shore? Why?
That would be like choosing a favorite child! Both are amazing. The Bayside is where my children learned to swim as small children because we didn’t have to worry about the surf at the beach. We spent summers at the sandbars, skiing and fishing. And talk about beautiful sunsets! On the flip side the Seaside has beaches with unparalleled beauty. I love walking for hours looking for sand dollars, fishing for flounder and appreciating the peacefulness of nature.
PERSONAL
How long have you lived in your current home?
I lived in Eastville on the water for twenty years and recently moved into the historic part of Cape Charles. I feel that I have been able to experience the best of both worlds. Raising my kids on the water was wonderful, but now that they’re grown and out on their own I’ve downsized and enjoy living where I can walk to shops and restaurants.
How do you relax after a hard day of work?
After work, heading to the beach with my Boykin Spaniel to watch the sunset is the greatest. You also may find me walking around town listening to David Sedaris on Audiobooks and laughing!
